A mobile Wi-Fi hotspot is easy to use and it will keep your phone, tablet, laptop, and other Wi-Fi enabled devices connected to the Internet wherever you are. You can connect up to 10 Wi-Fi enabled devices on one hotspot. Our Wi-Fi hotspots work in any area covered by the T-mobile network.
Who can check out a Wi-Fi hotspot?
A hotspot may be borrowed by Newton Falls Library cardholders ages 18 and older whose accounts are in good standing. New Borrower, Teacher and Minor cards cannot place holds on or check out hotspots. The borrower must sign the library’s Mobile Wi-Fi Hotspot User Agreement before checkout. One hotspot per household.
How much does it cost to borrow a Wi-Fi hotspot?
Borrowing and using a mobile hotspot is FREE. Overdue fines are $3.00 per day. If the device or any parts are missing when it is returned, a fee will be charged to your library account. Replacement cost is $230.00 for the device, $25.00 for the charger and $25.00 for the case.
How long can I keep a Wi-FI hotspot? Can I renew it?
You can borrow a mobile hotspot for 2 weeks. A Wi-Fi hotspot cannot be renewed. If the hotspot is overdue, the library will shut down the connection within 24 hours, which will make the device unusable. Overdue fines are $3.00 per day.
Can I place a hold on a mobile hotspot?
Eligible cardholders can call or stop in the library to place a hold on a Wi-Fi hotspot. You will be placed on a waiting list to receive the next available hotspot.
How do I return the mobile hotspot?
Hotspot devices MUST be returned to Newton Falls Public Library in person at the Circulation Desk, NOT in the book drop. You must return the device with all the original packaging and accessories. Please fully charge the battery before returning the device.
What if my Wi-Fi hotspot doesn’t work?
If you encounter any problem with the hotspot, return it and all its component parts to the library immediately.
The mobile hotspot has prompted me to update the software. Should I do that?
Yes. The mobile hotspot periodically receives software updates from the service provider. You can go ahead and accept the update. The software upgrade process only takes a few minutes.
